Nightingale to the rescue

It’s no secret that when you have a new baby your relationship with your husband takes a bit of a back seat and all your attention and focus is on that little bundle of joy that keeps you occupied 24/7.

For the last four months date nights have consisted of changing diapers, preparing milk bottles, eating cold food and falling asleep 5 minutes into starting a movie. Not very romantic and certainly not very satisfying when all you want to do is spend some quality time with your hubby like “the old days”.

It was only a few days ago I realised that I need to make an effort and do something special for the husband. I was also tired of my hair being tied up and walking around in my pajamas all day, I wanted to put on some make-up, a nice outfit and eat a hot meal and that’s exactly what I did (Even though I felt extremely selfish for wanting some ME time). It’s a daunting task for any new mom to even think about leaving their baby with a stranger for the first time without doing extensive background checks and conducting some very serious interviews, but I knew I was making the right choice when I picked up the phone and hired a qualified nurse from Nightingale Home Nursing.

Nightingale offers home nursing services for children and elderly patients with an experienced team who are trained to provide the best possible care for your little ones. Booking a nurse was also very simple and you receive a confirmation email almost immediately, you are also assigned a nurse who is most qualified or suited to the age of your baby.

We were assigned a wonderful nurse by the name of Florynel arrived on time and who took over from the minute she walked in the door. Not only did she calm my fussy 3 month old, but her warm and caring personality also calmed our worried minds as we were about to leave for the evening. I instructed Ms Florynel to have Leila’s diaper changed and put her into her pajamas, prepare her bottle and play with her until she was ready to go to bed. She was happy with the instructions and asked a few questions to ensure that everything would go well. As I closed the door behind me with teary eyes, I heard the sound of a nursery rhymes being sung in the background and I smiled.

During the evening I called the nurse twice and both times she answered promptly, assuring me that Leila was doing fine and that they were singing and playing. I did want to check up every 10 minutes but I had full trust in the nurse that she was doing a great job.

We arrived home 20 minutes before the nurse was scheduled to leave where she welcomed us home with a smile and showed us our precious little one who was all snuggled up in her crib with her favorite teddy bear. I am happy to say that we will definitely be using Nightingale Home Nursing again and I would recommend their services to any couple who deserve a night out.
